PARLIAMENT SUSPENDS INTERDICTION ACTION AND REINSTALLS THE FIRST DEPUTY PRO
The Parliamentary Council upon its fourth sitting has passed a new resolution with regards to the interdiction action meted on the 1st Deputy PRO. The Parliamentary Council in their new resolution passed, has suspended the interdiction action and reinstalls the 1st deputy PRO. Meanwhile; • Pursuant to Article 49(2) of the SRC Constitution, the above-mentioned officer has been subjected to appear before the Privileges and the Judicial Committee for contempt of Parliamentary Council [Article (14)(4)(b)] which has been tasked by the Rt. Hon. Speaker to deal with such matter. • Findings by this selected committee tasked to deal with the matters will be presented to the house for further deliberation. • The concluded decision by the house will be communicated in writing to the judicial Council. • A copy will be served to the President for proper redress of the matter and appropriate punishment due him when found guilty.
